FSB member, small firms,

An expert in Military History, Hiking in Wales, Risk Management and textile crafts

We do not generally see an author who covers so many diverse subject areas but as Jacqueline says

"I have been around for a long time!"

Despite the topics seeming to be very different, all the books were written based on the work she was doing at the time and always with a background love of long-distance walking and the Arts.

The books available here are all published by Pen Coed Publishing, allocated an ISBN number , and available from Amazon (see the links on individual title pages)

Dr Jacqueline Jeynes, travel writer, author,

Dr Jacqueline Jeynes

Dr Jacqueline Jeynes has been a published author for more than 20 years, as well as developing course materials and providing Management Training programmes in industry since 1987. She established Pen Coed Publishing in 2015 so has work published by us as well as other publishers.

Her first book was published in 2000 by Butterworth Heinemann (now Elsevier) followed by two more titles on how to manage health and safety in a small business. These were based on her PhD and work as a health and safety specialist in industry while a national policy representative for Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

The next book in the series, released in 2020, is

Felt Making: all you need to know to get started

ISBN: 978-1-99983524-8

Jacqueline says: “My father was a prisoner of war in Japan in WWII (FEPOW) and as secretary of the Midlands group FEPOW for many years, I heard lots of first hand recollections from wives and families, as well as the ex-POWs themselves. Following a short article published in Discover Your History magazine in 2014, about my father and his experiences as a FEPOW aged 18 to 21, I put it all together as a book.

Before Hiroshima: Forgotten Prisoners of War in Japan, Burma & the Far East

ISBN: 978-0-9926100-9-8

Jacqueline has often taken up the challenge of long distance treks, walking in Venezuela with YWCA, across Cuba (hard walking but fantastic views!) for MIND, and Mount Etna for BHF Wales, raising over £10,000 for these charities altogether.

“In 2010 I walked the Wye Valley Way with my aunt Jenni – basically 2 old ladies walking across Wales 136 miles in 15 days".

At the same time, the National Library of Wales project for local businesses allowed her to include images of paintings of places along the route from Chepstow to Plynlimon, making it a beautiful “Walking Wales” book rather than just a travelogue
